FLUSHED WITH IDEAS!
W.C. Productions Pty Ltd (WCP) is an Australian company specialising in film, documentary, and television production. The company's owners have developed a reputation for producing high-quality content across a variety of genres.
Project Status – 2023 to 2026
During 2023 and 2024, WCP was actively working on several major projects. However, following a stroke suffered by one of the Directors and Writers in late 2024, all ongoing projects were placed on hold. WCP intends to recommence work on these projects starting in 2026, with the documentary about the Australian Light Horse Association set to begin pre-production as a priority.
Television Series: Beer – The Inspiration of Man
This project involves the production of a one-hour weekly live streaming show entitled "Beer The Inspiration of Man". The series is designed to culminate in two one-hour television documentaries and two eBooks. Although currently on hold, the series is scheduled for reconsideration and potential continuation in mid-2026.
Documentaries in Pre-Production
WCP was preparing three documentaries, all at different stages of development before the interruption. These include:
-
The Setting of the Rising Sun: A series consisting of three 60-minute programs, this documentary explores the halting of the Japanese advance through Papua New Guinea (PNG).
-
The History of the Australian Light Horse: This project aims to develop a comprehensive, 50-minute dramatised television documentary. Its focus is on the members of the Australian Light Horse Association, celebrating their dedication to preserving the skills, history, exploits, and heritage of the Australian Light Horse. The documentary will highlight both the proud history of sacrifice and valour, as well as the ongoing legacy maintained by descendants, association members, army formations, and the wider public. It seeks to showcase how their enthusiasm and commitment have ensured the continuation of the Light Horse legend for future generations.
-
Beer – The Inspiration of Man: The two 60-minute documentaries will be produced alongside the online streaming TV series. The content is intended to be educational, entertaining, and humorous, while remaining entirely factual. The documentaries will illustrate the role of beer in the construction of historical landmarks like the Pyramids and the Great Wall of China.
They will explore how beer was consumed in the morning, both hot and cold, as a safer alternative to water, and how early European tax officials tested alcohol content by sitting in beer rather than drinking it.
The series will also reveal that pasteurisation was originally invented for beer, not milk, and was only applied to milk 25 years later. Viewers will discover answers to questions such as the world’s most popular beer, the country with the highest beer consumption per capita, and the strongest beer ever manufactured. The documentaries will also cover the emergence of microbreweries and the rise of beer tourism. Through an exploration of manufacturing secrets, the series aims to celebrate beer as the third most consumed liquid on Earth—after water and tea—and invites audiences to discover the fascinating world of this beloved beverage.
